President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday, met behind closed doors with some Igbo leaders led by Mbazulike Amaechi at the Presidential Villa Abuja.

The Igbo leaders who attended the meeting included Bishop Sunday Onuoha, former Gov. Chukwuemeka Ezeife, Tagbo Amaechi and Chief Goddy Uwazurike.

The Chief of Staff to the President, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari; National Security Adviser to the President, Babagana Monguno; Minister of Science and Technology, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu and the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, were also in attendance.

While the agenda of the meeting, which lasted for not less than one hour, was not made public and those in attendance did not speak to the press, it is not unconnected with the insecurity in the southeastern region.

It is no longer news that the southeast has experienced a level of insecurity, leading to the death of security personnel and the destruction of government facilities.
