The Northern Elders’ Forum (NEF) has declared the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, bandits, and insurgents as threats to Nigerians.

Speaking on behalf of the Forum, its spokesperson, Dr Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, was reacting to the attack on the residence of Prof. George Obizor, the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo.

Recall that some assailants had razed down Obiozor’s country home at Awo-Omamma, Oru East Local Government Area of Imo State on Saturday morning.

The gunmen were said to have attacked the building using Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and petrol bomb.

In a tweet, the NEF spokesman wrote: “My sympathies for my brother and compatriot, Prof George Obiozo, P-G, Ohaneze Ndigo over the recent attack on his country home.

“This is a reminder that violence knows no boundaries. IPOB, bandits, insurgents, violent criminals are threats to all of us and the need for a safe future.”

Meanwhile, IPOB had distanced its members from the attack on Obiozor’s residence.

IPOB noted that the Ohanaeze President-General had never been a threat to its course, hence the Eastern Security Network (ESN) was not involved in the incident.
