The Deputy Speaker, Kaduna State House of Assembly, Alhaji Mukhtar Hazo, has urged corporate organizations in the state to play active role in the development of their host communities.

Hazo who represents Basawa constituency in the assembly, made the call while speaking to newsmen in Kaduna on Tueday.

The legislator said that such organisations have a responsibility to promote the development of communities around them and enhance the livelihood of the people.

The deputy speaker advised community leaders to engage corporate organizations around them and agree on areas of interventions for the overall development of their area.

“With the right conversation, the institutions that tap resources from our communities can support the people enormously.

“Their support has become more crucial now that the world is being ravaged by the Coronavirus pandemic, they can be of help in several ways,” he said.

The lawmaker expressed worries that many corporate institutions in the state have not been helpful to the communities.

“They just and watch the government alone cater for the people.

“These institutions forget that they harness natural and human resources in their host communities to their advantage, this will no longer be acceptable,” Hazo said.
