Katsina Airport rehabilitation to gulp N30 billion – Aviation Minister

The sum of N30 billion is to be spent by the Ministry of Aviation for the rehabilitation of the Umaru Musa Yar’adua International Airport, Katsina.

This was disclosed by the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, on Tuesday in Katsina during a chat with the media.

According to Sirika, in the next one month his ministry will begin work on the establishment of a fire fighting vehicle manufacturing and repairs plant in Katsina while adding that the plant which will cater for the whole country will employ 1,500 youths.

Speaking further, the Minister said other works to be done at the airport include the repairs of runways and the perimeter fence at the airport.

He also added that Port-Harcourt and Abuja airports have been opened while pledging to open that Kano and Lagos soon.
