Kidnapping, banditry saddens me — Niger Gov, Bello

Niger State, Governor Abubakar Sani Bello, has said he is saddened by the acts of banditry, kidnapping and criminal activities in parts of the state.

The Governor expressed sadness at the activities of criminals but assured that his administration is making concerted efforts to tackle the trend.

He lamented the havoc being inflicted on helpless communities across the state by the criminal elements which have affected agricultural activities in some parts of the state.

“I’m am deeply saddened by acts of kidnappings and banditry in some areas of the state which is hindering economic activities.”

The governor, however, noted that his administration is making a concerted effort to secure the lives and property of the people of the state.

“We are making a concerted effort with security agencies to ensure that everyone go about their daily routine safely.”

The Governor commended security agencies for their efforts in securing the state while assuring them of his government’s continuous support in eliminating criminality in the state.

“We appreciate security agencies for their sacrifice and we will continue to strengthen our local vigilantes.”
