Kwara Deputy Governor Kayode Alabi has advised the youth to direct their aspiration towards developing the nation.
Alabi gave the advice while receiving the executive and members of the National Association of Kwara State Students and Igbomina Students Union in his office in Ilorin on Friday.
He urged them to use their numerical strength wisely in directing the affairs of the state and the nation.
He, as well, challenged the youth to prepare themselves for leadership role, noting that the future of the nation rested on them.
Alabi also advised the youth to take active part in politics and use modern information technology to achieve their aims and ambitions.
He advised the youth to vote wisely in subsequent elections to have adequate representation in governance, warning them to shun thuggery and drug abuse.
“More than 35 million youths are into drugs worldwide and out of this figure, 15 million youths are recorded against Nigeria,’’ he observed.
Earlier the outgoing President of the National Association of Kwara State Students, Mr Musa Mohammed and the President-elect Adisa Jaji, appreciated the state government for its efforts in making life meaningful for students.
