A twitter influencer and media personality, Tunde, fondly called Tuneri, has committed suicide after tweeting about having some financial difficulties.
According to his friends, his suicide has happened on March 10, a day after he tweeted about needing money badly.
He tweeted, “I need money like mad.”
Nigerians have reacted to the news since the incident, some claimed his friends are to be blamed for ignoring his cry for help when he did ask for it.
One tweeted: “No offense bah but people are quite hypocritical. Dude killed himself because he needed money. I’m sure he has guys who could wrap up 100-200k for him or his close followers but no, it’s now that he’s dead, they are saying, ‘Tunde No’. No what exactly? Do better abeg.”
Another one claimed the deceased had helped him out of depression while he had been suicidal years back, and now he’s dead.
He tweeted: “In 2017, I almost took my own life, Tunde was one of the people that checked on me. 2021, he’s dead! Sigh! I wish he could’ve used the strength he gave me on that day.”
His girlfriend, Adetola, has also reacted to the news. She said she found out in a strange way. She revealed someone had called her to ask for her boyfriend’s password and she had jokingly told the caller to ask the boyfriend since he owns the phone.
The caller had told her the owner of the phone is dead hence the need for password.
She tweeted about how the call went.
“What is Tuneri’s password?
Me: Ask him naughty, is everything okay?
Jide: I need to unlock his phone, he is dead.
Me: Please stop joking.
*Also me* proceed to call my bobo’s phone and the voice wasn’t his.”
