The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) Uche Secondus, has blasted President Muhammadu Buhari for snubbing the National Assembly.

The National Assembly, led by Speaker Femi Gbajamiabila ordered President Buhari to appear before it following the killing of Zabarmari rice farmers in Jere Loca l Government Area of Borno State.

The President was scheduled to address a joint session of the National Assembly on Thursday but failed to appear after the Attorney General of the Federation, (AGF) Abubakar Malami had disclosed that the lawmakers lack constitutional powers to invite Buhari over issues of insecurity.

Secondus, in Abuja on Thursday evening, said Buhari has proven that nobody is in charge and the current federal government is broken.

“President Muhammadu Buhari who was scheduled to address the nation’s parliament today (Thursday) backed out after confirming to them he was coming.

“This back and front from the President on vital issue of security that is overwhelming our nation underscores our position as an opposition party that nobody is in-charge and that this is a broken government.”

Meanwhile, Human Right Activist, Mike Ozekhome, SAN blasted the Attorney General for his position as he stressed that the lawmakers have inherent powers to summon the President.
