Bayelsa State government has cleared the air concerning the removal of the reality TV star, Nengi Hampson, as the Face of Bayelsa Girl- Child.
The State Government noted that Nengi was never appointed in the first place.
Clearing the air on Wednesday, on why the former lockdown housemate was removed from the position, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Daniel Alabrah, revealed she was never appointed.
Recall that the State Governor, Diri Douye had named the First Class Honour graduate, Ebizi Blessing Eradiri, as the Face of Bayelsa Girl-Child.
Eradiri is the first female First Class graduate from the Faculty of Law fro. the Niger Delta University, NDU and also finished with First Class from the Nigerian Law School.
Governor Diri was earlier criticized for choosing Nengi over double First Class Honour graduate.
Daniel Alabrah emphasized on the fact that the State Government can choose anyone who fits a certain post but that Nengi was never appointed.
He insisted that Nengi and Ebiri belong to different sectors and can work perfectly in each of their sector.
“Nengi is in the entertainment sector so she can function in that aspect while Ebizi Eradiri is in the education sector.
“All is for them to inspire and encourage girls in the state so they can aspire better. It is bad for people to speculate and politicise everything,” he said.
