Niger State Governor, Abubakar Bello, says he has tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
The governor tweeted on Monday evening that he was asymptomatic and had gone into isolation.
“I have tested positive to #COVID19. However, I am asymptomatic and have gone into isolation,” he said.
Bello’s positive status comes amid warning the country was experiencing a second wave of the deadly virus.
As of Sunday evening, Nigeria’s confirmed cases have crossed 64,000 with 1,154 fatalities and almost 60,000 recoveries.
