Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka has opted to play international football for England.

The 19-year-old was born in London to Nigerian parents and is eligible for both countries.

He had openly admitted to considering playing for the Super Eagles but asked for time to make a decision.

The teenager has now obviously chosen the Three Lions as he has been included in Gareth Southgate’s squad for the triple-header of internationals against Wales, Belgium and Denmark in October.

Saka, who has also played as full-back and wing-back for Arsenal, is listed as one of the defenders in the 30-man England squad.

The youngster has been impressive since breaking into the Arsenal first team last season.

According to Opta statistics, since the start of last season, only Trent Alexander-Arnold (16) has provided more assists in all competitions than Saka (13) among English Premier League players.

Saka has played 31 times for England from U-16 to U-21 level. He joins the likes of the late Ugo Ehiogu, Nedum Onuohia, Jordon Ibe and Tammy Abraham (who is also in the current squad) in choosing England over Nigeria.
