Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara says “there is no amount that is too big to pay for peace” for the state.
Fubara had on Monday, signed a peace pact in Abuja amid protracted political crisis in Rivers State.
Governor Fubara, however, expressed his commitment to continue to make necessary sacrifice to secure Rivers State.
He stated this on Tuesday, while addressing a special convocation ceremony at the Pamo University of Medical Sciences.
“I will continue to pay it”, he told a crowd of Rivers People and visitors at the convocation hall.
He also assured that the provision of a quality education system and affordable public healthcare services remained two vital priorities of his administration.
“Let me say this to my dear state. I call you my dear state because the support you have shown to me within this period is unmeasurable. Ordinarily, I don’t even know them or have any contact with them, but they stood by me. There is no amount that is too big to pay for peace. I will continue to pay it”, the governor declared
