The Olufon of Ifon, Oba Israel Adeusi, has reportedly been shot dead.
KaftanPost correspondent gathered that the king was killed by unidentified gunmen while returning to his town after attending the Council of Obas meeting in Akure, the state capital on Thursday.
KaftanPost also reliably confirmed that two persons were kidnapped at the same spot few minutes later.
The monarch, who was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre in Owo, was however confirmed dead due to gunshot injuries.
While speaking to the Ondo State Police PRO, Mr. Tee-leo Ikoro, in order to obtain valid report of the incident, he disclosed that the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Bolaji Salami, has deployed officers to comb the area and arrest the perpetrators of the heinous act.
