Six COVID-19 patients who have recovered in Osun State have been discharged.

Governor Gboyega Oyetola broke the news on Wednesday, saying the patients tested negative for the disease twice.

The state confirmed its index case on March 25, 2020.

About 10 days later, the state government announced that of 127 returnees from Cote D’Ivoire, 17 of them tested positive for coronavirus.

Others were released to their families after testing negative.

However, 10 of those patients were discharged on April 10.

With the announcement on Wednesday, a total of 17 people have recovered in the state with only three left.

According to the governor, these patients are responding to treatment at the state’s facility and will be released soon.

Nigeria has recorded a total of 373 COVID-19 cases. Of that figure, Osun has recorded 20 cases.
