The Osun State government has announced the immediate lifting of suspension on forestry consultants and permits across the state.

A statement by Governor Ademola Adeleke, through his spokesman Olawale Rasheed noted that the lifting of the suspension was sequel to an ongoing review of the state’s internal revenue service.

Recall that in December 2022, Adeleke directed the suspension and review of plantation or forest reserve concession allocation permits, sawmill, flinch-sawn evacuation, timber and logs, hammering or release, motor-saw, forest reserve access and Tungya farming system allocation permits.

However, the governor warned the forestry operators and permit holders to play according to the rule and ensure transparency in their day to day activities.

The statement reads in part, “Any forestry operator who violates operational regulations will be summarily removed from the field.”
