Over 300 INEC ad-hoc staff in the early hours of Saturday at Dorayi Karama polling station, Gwale Local Government area of Kano State protested against non-payment of their training allowances.

This has delayed voting in the area as the ad hoc staff insisted on their N4,000 training allowances before proceeding to the polling stations.

The affected staff alleged that their colleagues in other centers were already paid.

They, therefore, vowed not to leave the center until their training allowance was paid to each of them.

But the prompt intervention of the Electoral Officer, EO, saved the situation after he addressed the aggrieved ad-hoc staff.

The EO assured them that their money would be paid to them in cash at their respective polling stations.
