Police charge Delta residents to be security conscious during Sallah

The Delta Police Command, has charged residents of the state to be security conscious, especially during the Eid-Kabir.

The Commissioner of Police, Mr Adeyinka Adeleke, gave this charge in a statement he made available to newsmen on Friday in Asaba.

He disclosed that the command had put in place adequate security arrangement to check crime and criminality.

“The command has stepped up security in the state through robust deployment of police personnel and equipment to all the nooks and crannies of the state.

“I want to reiterate the command’s commitment to the discharge of its statutory mandate of securing lives and property at all times,” Adeleke said.

He called on the public to furnish the police and other security agencies with useful information that would help them serve the people better.

The commissioner, while felicitating with Muslim faithful in the state, admonished residents to be security conscious at all times.

He also advised residents of the state to take appropriate measures for their personal protection and personal effects.

According to Adeleke, it is important that people should be security conscious, not only at home but also in public places as markets, worship centres, shopping malls and highways.
