Rivers State Police Command has neutralised six alleged kidnappers during a raid on their hideout near the Emohua axis of the state’s East-West Road.

The state Commissioner of Police, Nwonyi Emeka, made this known to newsmen on Friday in Port Harcourt.

He said the operation on Wednesday resulted in the arrest of six other suspects who reportedly belonged to the abduction syndicate.

Emeka stated that his troops in the anti-cult and tactical teams were responsible for the operation’s success.

He also revealed recent victories in the crackdown on suspected criminals, including the arrest of one Baridara Barodam alias Ojukwu from Boku, Gokhana LGA, by the Bori Annex Anti-cultism squad. They had the suspect on their wanted lists.

Among the exhibits recovered from various arrests and crime scenes at Hospital Road, Bonny LGA, Boku, Bori, Khana, illicit gun sales outlets in Obio Akpor, and a foiled kidnap scene in GRA Port Harcourt were locally fabricated arms, cut-to-size guns, a skull, cartridges, hard drugs suspected to be “ice” (crystal methamphetamine), and army camouflage.
