Raiders storm Ondo Covid-19 Palliative store

Barely a few hours after videos of young Nigerians raiding a store where the Lagos State Covid-19 palliatives were kept went viral on the social media, there seem to be an unfinished episode of this incident.

KaftanPost correspondent in a video obtained on Thursday evening revealed that some unidentified persons in Akure, the Ondo State capital raided the state Covid-19 store house located beside the Federal High Court.

 

The unidentified raiders, mostly youths, were caught on camera carrying a few sacks containing food stuffs kept in the warehouse.

While making enquiries on the subject, a member of the Akure community where the event occurred reliably informed KaftanPost correspondent that the food items, being an interventionary relief package for the Covid-19 pandemic ordinarily ought to have been distributed to the state’s dwellers since over three months ago.

Consequently, the source who pleaded anonymity hinted that some of the Covid-19 palliative items were allegedly shared by the State Governor, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, for political campaign purposes on the heels of the just concluded governorship election in the state where he emerged winner.

Efforts to however confirm the authenticity of these stated facts from a top official of the Ondo State government proved abortive as at the time of filing this report.
