A former Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Retired AIG Hakeem Odumosu, says reports that he has been appointed as acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is fake.
Reports had emerged that Odumosu has been appointed to lead the anti-graft agency by the President before leaving the country to attend a global financial summit in France.
Reacting to the report, Odumosu, on Wednesday, asked the public to disregard the rumour he described as the handwork of mischief makers.
His words: “Good Morning everyone, I have been inundated with so many calls and messages between yesterday and today on a purported EFCC Appointment.
“I just want to use this opportunity to debunk this information and say it’s totally untrue.
“This information must have emanated from Mischief Makers and should be totally disregarded.”
