Sokoto man, neighbour kidnap seven-year-old son

The Sokoto State Police Command, has arrested eight suspects over alleged abduction in the state on Tuesday.

A suspect, Suleman Musa, who is among the eight apprehended, is reported to have conspired with some persons to kidnap his son, Musa for a N4million naira ransom.

The poor boy was kept for four days before he was released after the ransom had been paid.

The State Commissioner of Police, Muhammed Gumel, while parading the suspects, on December 4, around 2.35pm, stated this.

He said, “Painstaking police investigation identified one Haliru Riskuwa, who is a neighbor to the family and popularly known as Lopetee, and he was subsequently arrested.

“According to him, he committed the crime along with one Abdullahi Umar and Faruku Usman Binji. All the suspects are in police custody, except Faruk Usman Binji, who is still at large. So far, N2.5m cash has been recovered from the suspects.”
