About six persons, including a pregnant woman were reportedly killed when terrorists suspected to be members of the Islamic State’s West Africa Province (ISWAP) attacked a community in Niger State on Tuesday night.
The terrorists are understood to have invaded the suburbs of Rafi and Wushishi local government areas yesterday and killed a pregnant woman and five other persons whose identities are yet to be confirmed.
Also, no fewer than 50 people were reportedly kidnapped by the assailants who operated around the Anawanka, Sabon Gari and Kundu axis of the two local government areas late Tuesday.
The State Commissioner for Internal Security and Humanitarian Affairs, Emmanuel Umar, has confirmed the incident to newsmen.
He promised to give details when fully briefed.
