About 74 kidnapped persons, including women and children, were released by terrorists in Zamfara state on Friday.
Many among the kidnapped victims were children and women, including those who were pregnant.
They were kidnapped while picking fuel wood in bushes around Wanzamai village in Zamfara state.
According to reports, they were in very pitiable conditions, as some appeared just like the skeletal remains of a human beings.
Their release was confirmed by some parents to newsmen.
A parent alleged that ” we have to sell our farms, food crops and even begged for money to gather money and pay ransom .”
A esident of the troubled village told newsmen that the abductors had released 74 out of 85 captives.
He added, that two of the captives were killed while 9 captives are still under the terrorist’s den.
Zamfara State has been in the news as an epicentre of terrorists activities , even though the military and other security agencies have not relented in pursuing and killing them during many successful operations.
