Four of the remaining 11 kidnapped students of the Federal Government College in Birnin Yauri, Kebbi State, have been released.

They were reportedly freed by a notorious bandit, Dogo Gide, alongside two babies after the payment of an unspecified ransom, reportedly in millions was made.

The kingpin had issued a list of conditions the state government must meet before the remaining girls could be released.

Two of the released teenagers returned with the babies they delivered while being held hostage.

The released girls are Faiza Ahmed, Bilha Musa Hafsa Murtala and Rahma Abdullah.

“It took six days of negations in the forest before four of the girl were released to us. We have seven more still in captivity, and two of the parents are still in the forest trying to secure their release.” a parent Salim Kaoje told newsmen on Saturday.

Recall that in January, the parents of the victims begged Nigerians to help raise money to get the girls out. They were among at least 100 taken in June 2021.
