Ovation International publisher, Dele Momodu, has disclosed that the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, underwent a knee surgery and currently recovering in London.
Momodu stated that Tinubu is in the UK to recover from the operation but did not state when the operation was held.
In an Instagram post confirming the visit of Governors Rotimi Akeredolu and Kayode Fayemi of Ondo and Ekiti states respectively to see the former Lagos Governor, Momodu on Thursday wrote: “Governors Rotimi Akeredolu and Kayode Fayemi jetted out of Lagos last night to visit former Governor of Lagos State ASIWAJU BOLA AHMED TINUBU who’s currently recuperating from a knee surgery in London.”
This however contradicts a statement released last month by Tunde Rahman, Tinubu’s media aide, saying that the APC leader was not hospitalized.
Rahman had said: “He is not in any hospital. He has no medical problem that would require hospitalization.
“Yes, he is out of the country at the moment. He will be back shortly.”
There were earlier fears that Tinubu might be unwell as he was away from the country but tension eased up when pictures of the former Lagos governor with Babajide Sanwo-Olu and other party members surfaced.
