The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has presented the Certificate of Return to the President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and Vice President-elect, Kashim Shettima.
INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, made the presentation on Wednesday afternoon, at the International Conference Center (ICC), Abuja.
The presentation comes hours after Tinubu was declared the winner of the February 25 presidential election.
Tinubu polled 8,794,726 votes to beat Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who got 6,984,520, and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP), who secured 6,101,533 votes.
However, in his speech after receiving the Certificate of Returns, the President-elect appealed to his fellow contestants in Saturday’s polls, to work with him.
He extends hands of fellowship, peace and collaboration to Atiku, Peter Obi, other presidential aspirants and their supporters.
Tinubu restates commitment to his renewed hope of making a new Nigeria.
