Former President of the United States of America, Donald Trump has decided to leave the America’s Screen Actors Guild before the due date he is supposed to be expelled from the union.

The Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) said the disciplinary committee would decide what part Mr Trump played in the Capitol riot in Washington DC.

Recall that on January 6, 2021, weeks before the Biden/Harris inauguration, there was a capitol riot where hoodlums had gained access into the building, destroying offices and properties.

Dozens of people were injured and about five people died during the Pro-Trump siege.

The Screen Actors Guild (SAG-AFTRA)’s president, Gabrielle Carteris, has chastised Trump’s actions for supporting and sponsoring the riot, stating that the former president had dragged the respect held up high for races, religions and democracy.

She said, “Donald Trump attacked the values that this union holds most sacred. Democracy, truth, respect for our fellow Americans of all races and faiths, and the sanctity of the free press.

“There’s a straight line from his wanton disregard for the truth to the attacks on journalists perpetrated by his followers.”

Donald who has been a member of SAG for more than 30 years is expected to be expelled at a forthcoming meeting but he has declined, revealing that he will not wait for them to carry on with their actions. Rather, he quit.

In his resignation letter to the SAG-AFTRA, the former president, Donald has stated that he is no longer ready to associate with them.

“While I’m not familiar with your work, I’m very proud of my work on movies such as Home Alone 2, Zoolander and Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps; and television shows including The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Saturday Night Live, and of course, one of the most successful shows in television history, The Apprentice – to name just a few.

“I’ve also greatly helped the cable news television business (said to be a dying platform with not much time left until I got involved in politics), and created thousands of jobs at networks such as MSDNC and Fake News CNN, among many others,” Trump added.

Donald also questioned the union for their lack of support for him when he needed it the most.

“Your organization has done little for its members, and nothing for me – besides collecting dues and promoting dangerous un-American policies and ideas – as evident by your massive unemployment rates and lawsuits from celebrated actors, who even recorded a video asking.

”Why isn’t the union fighting for me? ”

“I no longer wish to be associated with your union. As such, this letter is to inform you of my immediate resignation from SAG-AFTRA. You have done nothing for me.”

However, in response to Trump’s letter, SAG-AFTRA has issued a succinct answer, “Thank you”.
