U.S rapper, Silentó, arrested for murder of cousin

Fast-rising Atlanta based rapper, Richard Lamar “Ricky” Hawk popularly known as Prince Silentó has been arrested and charged for murder.

The rapper is charged for murdering his cousin, Frederick Rooks, 34 in a suburb in Georgia, U.S last month.

Silentó, 23, was arrested on Monday, February 1, 2021, and booked into Dekalb County Jail.

Information was confirmed according to a statement from the Dekalb Police department on Twitter and also according to inmate records.

The rapper, born January 23, 1998, in Stone Mountain, Georgia, U.S rose to fame after he dropped his one-hit record, “watch me(whip)”, he is signed to Capitol records.

The deceased, Frederick Rooks was found lying on a road in Panthersville, Southeast of Atlanta about 3.30 am on January 21, 2021, by Dekalb County Police department.

The 34-year-old victim was found bleeding heavily after suffering several gunshot wounds to his body, according to reports, his face and leg were affected.

Frederick was pronounced dead at the scene.

No information has been provided about how the rapper, Silentó was concluded as the suspect.

Silentó has recently been arrested for charges on driving an incident with a hatchet.

His “watch me(whip)” video has gained about 1.7 billion views on Youtube.

He is best known for his debut single, “watch me” which charted at number three on the U.S Billboard Hot 100.
