The Zamfara State Police Command says it killed two wanted terrorists on Tuesday.
The superintendent of police, said that the terrorists were killed when they attacked Sokoto Rima quarters in Dutsinma Local Government Area of the state.
Spokesman of the command Gambo Isah made this known in a statement issued to newsmen in Katsina.
“On December 13, 2022 at about 7:30p.m, a distress call was received that terrorists in their numbers, shooting sporadically with AK 47 rifles, attacked Sokoto-Rima Quarters, Dutsinma LGA, with intent to kidnap some residents.
“The two notorious terrorists were identified as Abu Na-Iraqi and Abu Na-Masari.
“Subsequently, the Area Commander Dutsinma and his team swiftly moved to the area, engaged the terrorists in a gun duel, neutralized two notorious terrorists on the wanted list of the police,” Isah stated.
He added that two AK 47 rifles were recovered from them.
“Search parties are still combing the area with a view of arresting other members of the syndicate who fled the scene with gunshot wounds,” he added.
