Rivers State Government on Wednesday said it is yet to receive N78bn refund from the Federal Government for the construction of federal roads in the state.
Commissioner for Information and Communications, Pastor Paulinus Nsirim, said this during on a live radio programme in Port Harcourt monitored by our correspondent.
He was answering a question on “why the state government needed more loans when N78bn had been approved by the Federal Government.”
Nsirim said, “As of today, the Rivers State Government is yet to receive the N78bn approved by the Federal Government. There is a difference between approval and release of funds.
“When the refund is received, Rivers people can always count on Governor Nyesom Wike to use it judiciously to increase the infrastructural development of the State,” Nsirim stated.
