Wizkid’s fourth studio album, Made In Lagos, has emerged as the No. 1 spot on the Billboard world album chart. This is coming ten months after its release.

It’s no surprise that the heavily criticised album has gained its utmost peak over the period of its reign, topping charts both locally and internationally since its release in October 2020.

The eleventh song on the album, ‘Essence’ featuring Tem, has become an international summer jam for the longest period in the history, with international celebrities hopping and humming to the beat and lyrics of the song.

The song made history by being the first Nigerian song on the Billboard Hot 100 and Global 200 music chart in July.

The album is also the first African album to debut on the Spotify Global Album chart at top ten position barely a week after its release.

Wizkid also featured Canadian star, Justin Bieber, on the remix of the song, ‘Essence’.

The remixed version of Essence also sits at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard world digital song sales chart as at Tuesday.

Wizkid has also announced the release date of ‘Made in Lagos’ Deluxe album.

According to his post, it drops on Friday. It has a total of 18 songs with four additional tracks to the initial album.
