Ejigbo and neighbouring towns in Osun State have been thrown into panic after some Cote d’Ivoire returnees being examined for coronavirus reportedly absconded.

According to our sources, the 137 Abidjan returnees escaped from Wole Soyinka Government High School, Ejigbo where they were being quarantined.

About a dozen out of the 80 tested returned positive.

However, the remainder grew increasingly impatient with the slow pace of the exercise and resorted to escaping.

It was gathered that the security operatives watched helplessly as they exited the facility.

There are 190 confirmed across the country according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.

Six new cases was confirmed in Osun on Friday, taking the state’s tally to 20 – only lesser than Lagos (98) and Abuja (38).
