AS Nigerians vote at the Presidential and National Assembly elections come Saturday, a body under the aegis of Tiv Youth Council has called for massive support for President Muhammadu Buhari, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The group according to a press statement signed by its president, Mike Msuaan and made available to Kaftanpost in Makurdi yesterday, predicated its advocacy on the milestone recorded by the president in the last four years in the areas of fight against corruption and insecurity, infrastructural development, youth empowerment and agricultural boost.

According to Msuaan, “The Tiv Youth Council  after an overview appraisal of the performance of the present administration has found President Muhammadu Buhari capable and credible to be given a second chance in office.

“To this end, we have mandated all our 23 LGAs Coordinators and Zonal officers to immediately commence massive mobilization for the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari this Saturday.

“We believe that the soft arrangements of exchanging power shifts between the two regions of the country (North and South) is good for national cohesion. We believe that any change from the person of the present Northern candidature of President Muhammadu Buhari to another different Northern candidate will alter the arrangement because should there by a change mistakenly, the PDP candidate may wish to still exercise his constitutional right of two terms of 8 years.”

The group cautioned against inflammatory speeches that will put the country into flames, stressing “All forms of agitations should be constructive and followed the constitutional channels.

“We should cooperate with the government for the provisions of security of our lives and properties and provision of basic amenities to better our means of livelihood, which should be our collective demand from government as a right. We are one people with a common destiny, we should learn to embrace one another in love,  peace and unity.”

The body also called on security agencies and the Independent  National Electoral Commission, INEC, to  be more civil, impartial and strict to the provisions of their constitutional duties.

“Every Nigerian is important and deserve equal treatment and justice. Every of our vote should count. Nigeria is our country and let’s safeguard it with dedication, sincerity and love,” it stated.
