2 company workers in court for allegedly stealing 9 IPhones

Two company workers, Olawale Okanlawon and Segun Samuel, who allegedly stole nine IPhones worth N3 million, on Thursday appeared in an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court.

The police charged Okanlawon, 26, who resides at No. 23, Makinde St., Mafoluku, Oshodi in Lagos and Samuel lives at No. 18, Ifelodun St., Ilasha, Mushin, Lagos with conspiracy and theft.

The Prosecution Counsel, Sgt. Ishiola Samuel, told the court that the defendants other persons at large, committed the offence on July 25, at Red Star Express, Computer Village, Ikeja.

Samuel alleged that the defendants conspired and stole the nine IPhones valued at N3million property of Red Star
Express Company.

The duo were asked to deliver the phones to their branch office at Ikeja when they stole the phones.

The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that stealing provides three years jail term, while conspiracy attract two years imprisonment.

Magistrate Mrs A.I. Abina admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N500, 000 each with two sureties in like sum.

Abina adjourned the case until Aug. 26.
