The Benue State Emergency Management Agency says it has given about 200 flood victims in Makurdi Local Government Area the sum of N50,000 each.
The Executive Secretary of SEMA, Dr Emmanuel Shior, who disbursed the funds on Friday, said the money (Ten Million Naira) was donated by the wife of the President of Nigeria, Mrs. Aisha Muhammadu Buhari through Senator Mrs. Oluremi Shade Tinubu, wife of the APC Presidential Candidate for 2023 general elections to cushion the sufferings of the victims.
He noted that more than 134,000 households were profiled but the ten million naira was only meant to be benefited by 200 households as directed by the donor.
Shior therefore urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the money, while he assured other victims who were not part of the ten million that SEMA has taken record of those who have benefitted and will ensure that others are captured in another face of intervention.
