Hollywood star and National Treasure star, Nicolas Cage, has tied the knot for the fifth time with Riko Shibata.

The actor who proposed to his lover over FaceTime, married his fifth wife in Las Vegas on February 16, 2021.

The actor confirmed the news, saying, “It’s true, and we are very happy.”

Nicolas, 56, is 30 years older than his current wife.

The actor married Patricia Arquette and the six-year-old marriage ended in 2001.

He then proceeded to Lisa Marie Presley and their marriage lasted for 100 days in 2002.

Nicolas and Alice married after and were blessed with their 15-year-old son, Kal-El Coppola. The marriage ended in 2016.

His four-day marriage to Erika Koike in March 2019 was next, which ended as well, making his newest marriage to Rico Shibata the fifth one.

Recall that in August 2020 during the pandemic,
Nicolas had announced he proposed virtually to his now wife, Rico Shibata, because of the coronavirus.

He revealed this on Brother Marc Coppola’s Radio show, “She left New York and went back to Kyoto, Japan, and I went back to Nevada and I haven’t seen her for six months.

“We’re really happy together and we’re really excited to spend that time together so I finally just said, ‘Look, I wanna marry you,’ and we got engaged on FaceTime.”

Nicolas revealed he popped the question and sent the ring in the favourite colour of the wife.

“Her favourite colour is black so she wanted the black gold, and the black diamond,” he explained, noting, “I customized and personalized it and I actually sent it to her FedEx.”

At the time, Nicolas was hopeful they’d exchange vows in a “really beautiful Shinto wedding” in Japan but plans obviously changed for the newly minted husband and wife.

According to a representative of the actor, “They exchanged traditional Catholic and Shinto vows with poetry from Walt Whitman and Haiku sprinkled in.”
