Abuja community groans under incessant invasion, kidnappings

Insecurity in the country is becoming more alarming as some bandit herdsmen stormed Tudunfulani Extension in Bwari local government area of The Federal Capital Territory around 1am on Sunday 25th April 2021.

The herdsmen hijacked the area in an eighteen passanger bus, fully armed with guns and other weapons. They kidnapped five residents and told their families not to panic that they were coming back.

Same incident reoccurred at the same location but different houses at about 12:38am on Wednesday, 28th April 2021.

The herdsmen were fully armed, carried out their operation, before the police could intervene, their seren alerted them. They abducted five more residents and left before the police got to the location.

Residents of Bwari local government of the FCT on Tuesday expressed concern about the kidnapping in Tudunfulani Extension, seeking the government to come to their rescue.

One of the residents of Tudunfulani Extension, Aishah Ladidi, told our correspondents in an online interview that the insecurity in Bwari is becoming more alarming.

Aishah cried out that herdsmen attacked Tudunfulani Extension on Sunday night, with gunshots, no one was killed but they went away with five residents, demanded for ransom and promised that they were coming back.

“They came back on Tuesday night with heavy gunshots as they promised. They kidnapped five more people.

“The community committees went out to patrol, they peeped at them as they carried out their operation, but couldn’t attacked them back because the herdsmen were fully armed, before the police got there, they had already left.

“About 10 people have been kidnapped in Tudunfulani Extension, the insecurity is getting out of hands, and we don’t know what next they might do. We cannot continue to bear the pain of our people been kidnapped.”

She suggested that the Council Chairman should deploy military personnel to the area, because she is unsure if they know about the recent attack in the residence.
