Actor Biz Markie dies, aged 57

American actor and rapper, Marcel Theo Hall popularly known as Biz Markie, is dead.

He died at the age of 57 from diabetes complications.

According to Theshaderoom, the legendary artiste passed away at a Baltimore hospital around 6:25 p.m yesterday according to TMZ.

Biz Markie was reported to have been fighting the complications with Type II diabetes for a year. He had his last breath with his wife by his side.

The report says, “We are saddened to report that legendary entertainer BizMarkie has passed away at age 57 from long-term diabetes complications.”

He is best known as the “Clown Prince of Hip Hop”; his single, “Just a friend” in 1989 was a big hit. It became a Top 40 hit in several countries.

The comedian, rapper and actor has acted alongside Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones and Taraji P. Henson.

His big appearance has earned him shots at animated movies as well. Biz Markie was a guest starred in popular cartoon, “SpongeBob Squarepants”.

He was in Men in Black II and a cast member in Nick Cannon’s Wild ‘n Out season 1 and 3.
