Super Eagles goalkeeper, Daniel Akpeyi, will leave Kaizer Chiefs at the end of his contract this month, after four years with the club

Akpeyi’s contract with the club expires on June 30, 2022.

This comes after the club also parted company with their goalkeeper coach Lee Baxter.

Lee arrived at Chiefs in February 2018 and worked with a number of Head Coaches and goalkeepers including Akpeyi.

The shot stopper joined the Amakosi from Chippa United in 2018/19 with 69 appearances in about four years he spent at the club.

The club made this known in a statement on Wednesday.

“Goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi will also leave the club, with his contract set to expire on June 30, 2022,” Chiefs’ statement reads.

“The Nigeria international signed mid-season from Chippa United in 2018/19 and featured 69 times in three and half years for Amakhosi. Farewell and good luck.”

Kaizer Chiefs also announced that Kearyn Baccus, Leonardo Castro, Daniel Cardoso, Lebogang Manyama, Lazalous Kambole and Samir Nurkovic will leave the club.

Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs will face Stellenbosch FC in the MTN 8 quarter-finals when the new season starts in August.
