American singer, Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, also known as Halsey, has welcomed her first child with her lover and screenwriter, Alev Aydin.
She posted a picture of herself, her baby and Aydin on Instagram on July 19, 2021.
The caption read, “Gratitude. For the most ‘rare’ and euphoric birth. Powered by love. Ender Ridley Aryin. 7/14/2021.”
The news of her child came two weeks after she made an announcement about her latest album ‘If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power’.
According to her, the punk-rock album means “a concept album about the joys and horrors of pregnancy and childbirth.” The NSFW cover art shows a breast-baring Halsey holding a baby in a Renaissance-themed background.
An excerpt of her caption when she posted her album reads: “My body has belonged to the world in many different ways the past few years…
“This cover image celebrates pregnant and postpartum bodies as something beautiful, to be admired. We have a long way to go with eradicating the social stigma around bodies & breastfeeding. I hope this can be a step in the right direction!”
Halsey announced her pregnancy in January on Instagram with a beautiful bump. She was seated with a bare top, revealing a rainbow tube top and jeans.
She wrote, “Surprise!” with three emojis, a bottle, a rainbow and a baby angel. A rainbow baby signifies a baby conceived after losing one.
Halsey also tagged the father of her baby, Aryin.
