The governorship candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Chief Nnamdi Nwawuo, has called for the cancellation of the Anambra Governorship election.
Speaking with KAFTAN TV, today, Nwawuo said he was unable to exercise his franchise.
According to the PRP candidate, he found only security personnel at his polling unit 001 in Anambra East on Saturday when he went to cast his vote.
Nwawuo disclosed that there was no sign of INEC officials, hence he was unable to cast his vote.
He added that his potential voters were also disenfranchised, labeling the exercise as a sham.
He, therefore, called on the electoral umpire to discontinue the election, adding that he is still unable to cast his vote today with materials yet to arrive as at the time of this report.
Nwawuo, however, threatened to drag the matter to court should INEC fail to call off the election and reschedule another.
Meanwhile, the results for the Anambra East Local Government Area have been announced with APC scoring 2034, APGA 9746, PDP 1308, PRP 35, YPP 559 and ZLP 44.
