Afrobeat rapper, Emeka Akumefule, aka Blaqbonez, has revealed how the famous singer, Asake, had been a backup before his fame.
In a recent interview with HIP TV, Blaqbonez said he had been acquainted with Asake, Fireboy, Zamorra, Yhemolee from their days in the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun state.
He said Asake and Zamorra had been backup singers in those days and they had been good at it.
Blaqbonez went further to state how Asake had helped him grow in his music career.
He said, “I have known Fireboy, Asake, Superboi Cheque, Yhemolee, and Zamorra since OAU days.
“Zamorra and Asake have always been great at backups. You know this thing Asake does now with his vocals, he has understood this thing from time.
“So, I used to ask him to help me figure out these things. They’ve always been influential in my music journey because I feel like every phase of BlaqBonez helped build the BlaqBonez that I am now.”
