Singer Wizkid’s ‘Essence’ has added a new feat to his line of achievement.
The record duo, Uzezi Oniko and Okiemute Oniko known as Legendary Beatz, won the Top R&B/Hip-Hop & Rap song of the year at the ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards 2023 for co-writing ‘Essence’.
The song which was released in 2020 has garnered several awards including nominations like the Grammy.
Other winners of the night include Warner Chappell Music as the publisher of the year for songs including Beyoncé’s ‘Break My Soul’, ‘Cuff It’ and Jack Harlow’s ‘First Class’, Dr Luke as the songwriter of the Year Award for hit songs like Nicki Minaj’s ‘Super Freaky Girl’, Doja Cat’s ‘Need To Know’ and ‘Latto’s ‘Big Energy’.
Music mogul and rapper, Dr Dre received the inaugural ASCAP Hip-Hop Icon Award.
