Bandits have reportedly release all surviving kidnapped Greenfield University students on Wednesday.

While this has not been confirmed by the government or parents of the students, it was not disclosed if any ransom was paid to secure their release.

This is after one of the students was released by the bandits, as confirmed by the mother of the student, Lauritta Attahiru, on Tuesday.

The bandits had threatened to kill the remaining 17 students in their custody if their parents and the state government fail to pay the sum of N100 million as ransom by Tuesday, May 4, 2021.

Recall that about 22 students were abducted from the university campus on April 20 before the bandits killed five of the victims as the State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, vowed not to engage in negotiations with them.

Parents of the students also protested at the National Assembly, urging the Federal Government to intervene. In response, the government promised that it was on top of the situation.
