Barack Obama, LeBron James, others speak on #StopAsianHate

Former President of United States of America, Barack Obama, has reacted to the #StopAsianHate online protest presently going on Twitter.

This is following a series of shooting directed to Spas in Atlanta.

At least eight people were killed and several others injured in the shootings at three Spas in the Atlanta Metro region on Tuesday, March 16, 2021.

Suspect, Robert Aaron Long, 21-year-old white male has been arrested at 8:30pm local time following a chase that led Officers to the Crisp country where he was apprehended.

According to the police, the suspect has been arrested and transported to the Crisp Country Detention Centre.

Obama in a tweet pleaded on the need to stop gun violence in America, especially in the Asian communities.

He tweeted: “Even as we’ve battled the pandemic, we’ve continued to neglect the longer-lasting epidemic of guys violence in America. Although the shooter motive is not yet clear, the identity of the victim underscores and alarming rise in Anti-Asian violence that must end.”

Former U.S Secretary of States, Hillary Clinton also tweeted hers.

She said, “I’m sending prayers today to the families of the people killed and three injured in Atlanta’s horrific attack.

“The surge in Violence against Asian Americans over the last year is a growing crisis. We need action from our leaders and within our communities to stop the hate.”

Basketball star, Lebron James, also reacted to the news, he said, “My Condolences goes out to the families of all the victims and their entire Asian Community tonight on what transpired in Atlanta at the Aromatherapy Spa. Coward a** young man!! Just senseless and tragic!!”

Tobias Harris also tweeted: “Sending love, support, and solidarity to the Asian Community. We cannot accept hate in any form and must all do our part to be a better people.”
