A former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Barnabas Gemade, has returned to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Gemade, who left the APC for the Social Democratic Party (SDP) before the 2019 general election, returned to the ruling party on Saturday.

It would be recalled that he lost the Benue North-East Senatorial District seat to former governor of Benue State and incumbent Senator, Gabriel Suswam.

The former PDP National Chairman dumped the SDP in a low key ceremony at the weekend in his village, Gemade Village, Mbajov, Mbawar Council Ward of Konshisha local government area of Benue State.

Senator Gemade said, at the ceremony, that he decided to return to APC after due consultations with the leadership of the party at the national, state, local and ward levels.

“I have decided to return to APC after due consultations with the leadership of the party at the national, state, local and ward levels,” he stated.

While receiving him back to the party, state chairman of APC, Comrade Abba Yaro expressed joy that Senator Gemade decided to return to the party.

The chairman described Senator Gemade as an asset that any political party can hardly do without. He, therefore, warned members of the party in Benue against exercising any form of sentiment against returnees to the APC.
