The organisers of the Billboard Music Awards have introduced the Afrobeat genre to their nomination list for 2023. The event will be held on Sunday, Nov. 19, and will be presented by Marriott Bonvoy.
Rema has seven nominations with his song ‘Calm Down’ remix with Selena Gomez.
Artistes like Rema, Wizkid, Burna Boy and Tems made the list to the Maiden Top Afrobeats Artist Category.
‘Calm Down’ Remix by Rema and Selena Gomez, ‘Rush’ by Ayra Starr, ‘Ku Lo Sa’ by Oxlade and others made it to the Maiden Top Afrobeat Song category.
‘Calm Down’ remix was also nominated in the Top Billboard Collaboration, Top Billboard Excl. U.S. Song, Top Billboard Global 200 Song, and Top Radio Song categories.
Other categories added to the Billboard Music Award nomination list include Top Global K-Pop Artist, Top K-Pop Tour, Top K-Pop album and Top Global K-Pop song.
