The Super Eagles of Nigeria will miss out on the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar.

This is after they played a 1-1 draw against Ghana in Abuja, on Tuesday evening.

Ghana qualified on away goal rule and will be making the 4th appearance in Qatar.

The match held at the 60, 000 capacity Moshood Abiola National Stadium Abuja saw the visiting Black Stars take the lead in the 10th minute through Thomas Partey’s outside box strike.

William Troost-Ekong restored Nigeria’s hope in the 22nd minute after a Video Assistant Referee, VAR handed Nigerians a lifeline with a spot kick.

Victor Osimhen’s goal thereafter, was ruled out, correctly, for offside by the VAR.

The first half ended one goal apiece but the second half did not see much action as the Ghanaians put 10 men behind the ball and defended till the last whistle.

This is the second time Nigeria is missing out of the biggest football tournament after failing to qualify in 2006 edition since 1994 they made their first appearance.
