President Muhammadu Buhari has extended the tenure of the acting Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Isah Idris Jere, till May 29, 2023.
This was disclosed by the Public Relations Officer of NIS, Comptroller Tony Akuneme, on Friday.
According to him, the development was contained in the letter of extension from Buhari, signed by the Chief of Staff to the President, Prof Ibrahim Gambari.
There has been uncertainty and bickering over Jere’s retirement
Reports had claimed that Jere has been handed retirement as a result of the expiration of his stay in service.
However, with the latest development respite would be restored to the Service.
