The President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government has finally approved the postings for ambassadors-designate to Nigerian Missions abroad.
This was made known in a statement by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Gabriel Aduda, on Tuesday.
The statement said President Muhammadu Buhari, approved the posting of 43 career ambassadors and 52 non-career ambassadors.
However, the ministry did not disclose their countries of assignment.
“With this development, the process of requesting agreement from the prospective host-countries has commenced,” the statement read in part.
The ministry also disclosed that there would be an induction course for the ambassadors-designate and their spouses on a date to be announced, adding: “The exercise is to prepare and facilitate movement of the envoys to their respective missions.”
The posting is being made about 9 months after President Buhari asked the Senate to screen the ambassadors-designate.
